Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed in the 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder by studying the thought patterns and behaviours of successful therapists.

The aim of NLP is to understand how people organise their thinking, language and behaviour and aims to provide practical ways for people to transform and adapt any self-limiting thoughts and behaviours.


The neuro aspect refers to the neurological system. This involves the translating of sensory information into thought processes, activating emotions and behaviours.


The linguistic aspect is the way humans use language to communicate and influence experiences.


The programming aspect refers to thinking patterns and aims to understand how experiences are represented and how to adapt those internal processes for desired results.

NLP is therefore based on the power of the mind and how this can influence your perspective and approach to life. The technique will provide you with a set of tools and techniques that can be used to create long lasting changes. These changes are based on an understanding of goals, emotional state, behaviour patterns and the way you think.
